There are two main factors- stress and biological vulnerability-several other factors influence them. For instance, some individuals might be biologically vulnerable to some physical diseases such as asthma of heart disease. A combination of factors such as stress, genetics, birth complications, and early experiences of abuse or the loss of a parent in childhood.
